Scholarships for Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Mathematics:
Academic and Social STEM Excellence for Transfer Students
(S-STEM ASSETS)
As Program Coordinator, I worked alongside our campus partners to facilitate S-STEM ASSETS's professional development activities and social events, and provided mentorship for our students in academic success and career-building.
S-STEM ASSETS is funded through the National Science Foundation (DUE-1643671) and administered by Stony Brook University's Department of Technology and Society in partnership with the University’s Career Center, Office of Enrollment and Retention Management, and Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness. The goal of the program is to help students pursuing STEM majors transition from a community college to a Research 1 public university. It is an integrated program, which provides a combination financial, academic, and career support. We particularly aim to serve underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students.
